Some exciting launches for Ford at Montreal Some exciting launches for Ford at Montreal

Excitement abounded in every member of Ford's team at this year's Montreal Auto Show as several exciting models were presented to the press and public.

2010 Ford Fusion

Fusion fans could get up close and personal with the new 2010 model, which is characterized by a gorgeous restyle and available with four cylinder, six cylinder or even hybrid power. A six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission can be specified, depending on the model selected.

2010 Ford Fusion hybrid

A new Fusion 'Sport' fits a larger 3.5 liter V6 in above the revised 3.0 liter unit, and all wheel drive will remain available on either six-cylinder engine. In Hybrid guise, Fusion beats out even the Toyota Camry Hybrid in terms of fuel consumption while delivering the same stunning looks as its conventionally-powered siblings.

Most agreed that the 2010 Mustang looked better in person than its online photos let on, and the more edgy and three-dimensional shape jumped out at the crowds from any angle. Though it's now perhaps more modern than retro, it's still instantly a Mustang- which was part of Ford's goal with the restyle.

"We want people to unequivocally know this is a Mustang when they see it," said Douglas Gaffka, chief designer of the 2010 Ford Mustang. "The stronger, more-muscular front end of the 2010 Mustang does just that."

2010 Lincoln MKZ

Though Lincoln's flagship MKS sedan is getting lots of attention these days, the smaller MKZ is far from taking a back seat to its new big brother. Fans of the sedan formerly called the 'Zephyr' noted the revised interior and exterior styling, as well as the presence of multiple high-tech features. MKZ will continue to offer V6 power alongside available all wheel drive.

The updated Ford models should start arriving at dealerships this spring.
